About AIPSA

An independent student association built on democratic decision-making

The All India Progressive Students Association is an autonomous, pan-Indian platform for student advocacy. Its work is shaped by its members, from individual university units to national coordination.

Our Foundations

Origins and purpose

AIPSA emerged from the need for a student body that could speak on public education and campus welfare with its own voice. It was formed to give students a structured way to examine the issues that affect them and to act on those concerns together.

Student-led decision-making remains central. Priorities are discussed and set through the association's committees rather than imposed from outside, so that the organisation reflects the views of the students who take part in it.

Guiding Principles

What guides our work

01

Democratic representation

Decisions move through democratic structures, from university units to national coordination, so every member has a defined voice.

02

Scientific education

AIPSA supports equitable public education grounded in evidence and open inquiry, and treats access to learning as a shared responsibility.

03

Student solidarity

Students across states and campuses stand together on shared concerns, while the association remains independent in its judgement.
